On 6 August 2005, Air Scouts from all over Gauteng converged on the Magaliesberg Gliding Club to take part in the first Air Scout Jamborally in more than a decade. Take Off consisted of four action-packed days of aviation-related activities. There were loads of things to do – so many that there wasn’t time for everyone to try everything... Some of the activities that the participants took part in included: Flying in real Airbus flight simulators, Virtual aviation on the PC, Tour of the Swartkops Museum, Testing a home-made Hovercraft, Flying in a Microlight, Jabaru and Glider, Tours of aviation-related companies, Navigation, Tour of the Air Traffic Control Towers at Jhb International and Rand Airports, Restoration of aircraft, Flying power-kites, paper aircraft and much more… But don’t just take my word for it, take a look for yourself. Remember: there’s lots more air activities to come. Keep watching this webpage for details. The ASJ video is available here |
